Let’s talk about Content Creation.
As business owners we have all faced it, some of us love it and some of us hate it so much that we outsource it to ensure that the task is done. If you haven’t realized by now, I am talking about creating content for your business.
I am sure you know how valuable your content is to grow your audience, especially to your niche but that still doesn’t mean that we will automatically enjoy creating content.
Full disclosure…I have a love/ hate relationship with content creation but I enjoy it when it comes to writing email copy.
However, to ensure that content can be created in bulk, I have found the best and easiest way to create and repurpose content so my clients don’t have to spend hours or maybe even days creating content.
Before we get started, let’s define what is content creation.
In simple terms, it is the act of generating topics (content) into social media posts, emails, videos and blogs that appeal to their audience and encourage them to either become a loyal follower or to buy from your business.
Either way, it’s a win as loyal followers will encourage others to your business to purchase whereas some will directly buy and tell others about your products or services.
The best way to create content is to ensure it can be easily repurposed. Visibility through content helps you to:
✅ Build know, like and trust
✅ Increase Business Loyalty
✅ Positions youreslf as an expert
✅ Grow your business quickly.
It has been proven that the more visible you become the faster you can position yourself as an expert in your field and grow your audience.
With the rise of so many social media platforms and blogs, now more than ever it’s of the utmost importance for you to become or stay visible both online and offline.
Let’s be honest, you may be the best in your field and create amazing results for your clients but. you won’t be able to grow your business quickly if your niche can’t find you or if they don’t know who you are and what you do.
The fastest way to grow your visibility is by effectively and strategically communicating through content.
As a digital marketer, I learned that storytelling helps to build your brand and helps your audience identify with you as a person and not a business.
Remember people buy from people and not businesses. For you to grow your business, you must engage in methods to grow your audience consistently.
I know that creating content may be difficult at times.
With all the other aspects of running a successful business involved, it’s difficult to find the time to sit down and create content consistently unless you have a team in place to help you.
What if there is an easier way of creating and repurposing your content that is both strategic and effective?
What if someone could show you how and help you to implement it?
How much would a service like that be worth to you and would this be something you are willing to invest in?
It all begins with your goals.
Start with creating your goals for your business and then break them down into bite-sized pieces.
Your Content Strategy & Your Content Plan
After you have created your goals, you now have to create a plan of how to achieve them, this is where your content strategy comes in.
Your content strategy will outline all aspects relating to the planning, development, and management of your content and will go hand in hand with your content plan.
Your content plan will help you to map out the topics, where to post your content, what type of content channel e.g., blogs, videos, etc., how often you are posting, and the goals of each post.
Now that you have all this information you can start with the fun part… creating your content!
Create some Content Pillars!
A content pillar is a larger piece of content that can be broken down into smaller pieces.
Create long-form content such as blogs, podcasts and videos.
Now that you have planned your monthly content, it’s time to start creating!
This is where the magic happens, where you can feel comfortable being your true self and share your knowledge and experience with your audience.
Remember good content needs to be strategic and effective so you must optimize your content with SEO.
*Easy tip – Create a few ten-minute YouTube videos that you can convert into podcast episodes and blog posts or create your blog post first and then convert it to a video and an audio podcast episode.
That’s one piece of long-form content that you have repurposed into two long-form pieces already.
Repurpose your blogs and videos
Now that you have created your video, blogs, and podcast episode, let’s see how many smaller pieces of content you can generate from each piece.
It’s time to break them into bite-sized pieces so your audience can consume and apply them without overwhelm.
- Use your long video and create shorter videos highlighting a tip or something very important in each piece. If your piece is 2 ½ minutes you can create 4 pieces of video content to share. Note: you may need some editing skills to pull this off or you will have to outsource to a video editor.
- You can create shorter versions of these videos for platforms such as TikTok and Instagram and Facebook reels and stories.
- Create social media posts highlighting your blog post and podcast episode and why your audience needs to read your blog.
- Use four tips from your overall content to create social media posts and lead your audience back to your blog, podcast, or YouTube channel for more on the topic (your long post.)
- If you are using email marketing as you should be and sending one email per week, use four tips from your content pillars and generate emails. An easy method is to use the same tips used for your social media posts and expand on the content. You can also use the short-form videos you created in your emails.
And voila! There you have it, one month of content!
Use a content calendar
A content calendar gives you a visual overview and insight into what days you are posting, at what time, and on what platforms, etc. You can download various simple content calendars from sites such as Hubspot and Planable.
Drive traffic to your website
Some people will tell you that you don’t need a website but if you are creating content then you should have a safe space to store your content. You will also need a place to drive traffic so your audience can learn more about who you are, what you do, why you do it, and what services you offer. Ensure that your long-form content such as your blogs, podcasts, and YouTube videos are also housed on your website.
*Remember your content pieces should drive your audience to your website
Invite your audience to join your email list
While your audience is browsing your content on your website, make sure you entice them to join your email lists so you can keep communicating with them. Ensure to embed your lead magnet/freebie (or create a blog on lead magnets and use the freebie created) on your website so you can capture those leads and build your email community.
Now that you have learned a comprehensive yet simple way of creating your content, are you ready to begin?
I know it may seem like a lot but once you get the hang of it you will be creating content in very little time however it will take some effort.
Your visibility growth is just a few steps away so why wait?
