How many women can you think of that you consider powerful women?
It’s certainly not a term that I ever used to refer to myself.
I never thought about myself as a “Powerful Woman” but when my friend and publicist Carla Williams Johnson approached me to do this article I decided it was time to step up, overcome my fear, and acknowledge my God-given talents.
As someone who shies away from the spotlight, I must say this was an incredible experience especially to be featured and referred to as a “Powerful Woman” in my first International Feature with Authority Magazine!

POWERFUL WOMEN SUMMARY
In the “Power Women” interview series, I had the pleasure of sharing my journey as a momtrepreneur and Email Marketing Specialist, navigating work, employee relationships, love, and life.
I support female business owners, especially momtrepreneurs, helping them achieve visibility and success through administrative and email marketing services.
I grew up in the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago with a close-knit family and many outdoor adventures, which instilled in me the values of fun and family.
After leaving my corporate job, I became a Virtual Assistant and eventually specialized in digital marketing, focusing on email marketing after an apprenticeship with an Online Marketing Company in Florida.
A pivotal moment in my career was a significant mindset shift. Initially uncertain of my capabilities, I invested in mindset programs and coaches, overcoming imposter syndrome and growing my self-belief.
This transformation enabled me to confidently pursue business opportunities and assert myself in my field.
I attribute my success to three key traits: a positive mindset, persistence, and strong networking and communication skills. A positive mindset helped me overcome self-doubt and meet client expectations.
Persistence in following up with potential clients and not taking rejection personally built lasting business relationships.
Effective networking and communication allowed me to build a supportive professional network, fostering mutual referrals and business growth.
In discussing societal discomfort with powerful women, I noted that women’s traditional roles as homemakers and nurturers have evolved, leading to unease with strong women in leadership positions.
I believe it’s crucial for women to remain authentic and not dim their light to make others comfortable.
Society needs to redefine and recognize the achievements of powerful women across various spheres, including business, home, and community.
Balancing my personal and professional life was initially challenging for me.
The tipping point came when my health and family relationships suffered due to overwork.
Support from other momtrepreneurs, prayer, and guidance helped me find equilibrium, prioritizing family and self-care alongside business goals.
Regarding beauty, I believe true beauty comes from within.
While I maintain a presentable appearance, I don’t excessively focus on looks as I believe beauty is natural and comes from within.
This balance allows me to stay authentic and confident in various settings.
To thrive and succeed as a powerful woman, I identify five essentials:
- A strong relationship with God for daily guidance.
- Passion for one’s work, making it feel less like labor.
- A genuine love for helping others succeed.
- Flexibility and balance to prioritize family time.
- A strong support system to alleviate stress and provide motivation.
If I could have breakfast with anyone, it would be Oprah Winfrey, as her journey and influence are incredibly inspiring to me.
